At Yumdeli, we strive to create a seamless and mutually beneficial partnership with our restaurant and food delivery service vendors.
This Vendor Policy outlines the expectations, responsibilities, and terms of engagement for vendors who partner with us to offer their products and services through our platform.
By partnering with Yumdeli, vendors agree to comply with the guidelines set forth in this policy. The aim is to ensure a high-quality, safe, and enjoyable experience for all customers while maintaining a professional and transparent relationship with vendors.
1. Overview
Yumdeli is a food delivery platform connecting restaurants, food vendors, and customers. Our goal is to provide high-quality food delivery services to customers while maintaining integrity and fairness in our vendor relationships.
2. Vendor Registration & On boarding
To become a vendor on the Yumdeli platform, each interested restaurant or food service provider must complete the registration and on boarding process, which includes:
- Vendor Application: Vendors must submit their business details (name, contact info, menu, business address, etc.) through the Yumdeli vendor registration portal or via our on boarding team.
- Business Documentation: Vendors must provide necessary documentation, including:
- PAN NUMBER
- GSTIN Number
- FSSAI Registration Number
- Bank Details (IFSC and Account Number)
- Your Restaurant Menu
Upon successful registration and verification, vendors will be granted access to the Yumdeli platform to begin listing their products.
3. Menu Listing & Updates
Vendors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of their menu listings on the Yumdeli platform. This includes:
- Menu Updates: Vendors must keep their menu items, prices, and availability up-to-date. Any changes to the menu (e.g., new dishes, price updates, items removed) must be submitted to Yumdeli promptly to ensure accurate listings.
- Photos & Descriptions: Vendors must provide clear and accurate photos of their dishes, along with detailed descriptions and ingredient information. This helps customers make informed decisions.
- Item Availability: Vendors must ensure that the items listed on their menu are available and ready to be delivered during business hours.
4. Order Management & Fulfilment
Once an order is placed through the Yumdeli platform, vendors are responsible for the following:
- Timely Fulfilment: Vendors must prepare and pack orders promptly and accurately, ensuring that orders are ready for delivery within the agreed-upon timeframes.
- Packaging Standards: Food should be packed securely to avoid spillage, contamination, or damage during transit. Packaging should also be eco-friendly and comply with local regulations where applicable.
- Order Accuracy: Vendors must ensure that the correct items are prepared and packed according to the customer’s order, including any special requests or dietary restrictions (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free).
- Communication: If there are any delays, issues with the order, or items that are out of stock, vendors must notify Yumdeli’s support team and the customer immediately to offer a solution or an alternative.
5. Delivery
Yumdeli handles the delivery process through its in-house drivers or third-party delivery services. Vendors are expected to:
- Preparation for Pickup: Ensure orders are packed and ready for pickup at the designated time, as per the agreed-upon schedule.
- Collaboration with Delivery Partners: Vendors should cooperate with the delivery team, ensuring smooth handoff and timely delivery of the order.
- Delivery Time Commitment: Vendors must strive to meet the expected delivery times and avoid delays that can lead to poor customer experiences.
6. Pricing & Payment
Vendors set their own prices for menu items, but must comply with Yumdeli’s pricing guidelines. Key points regarding pricing and payment include:
- Commission Structure: Yumdeli charges a commission fee on each sale processed through the platform. The commission percentage will be outlined in the vendor agreement.
- Payment Terms: Payments to vendors are typically made on a weekly basis(Wednesday), depending on the agreement. Payment is processed after deducting any applicable fees (e.g., commission, tds, Convenience fee) etc.
- Refunds and Disputes: If a customer requests a refund or there is a dispute over an order, vendors must work with Yumdeli’s customer service team to resolve the issue promptly.
7. Vendor Responsibilities
Vendors are required to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, food safety, and customer service. Specific vendor responsibilities include:
- Food Safety and Hygiene: Vendors must adhere to local and national food safety regulations, ensuring that all food is prepared, stored, and transported safely.
- Food handling guidelines must be followed at all times.
- Health and safety inspections must be passed regularly (if applicable).
- Customer Service: Vendors should prioritize excellent customer service by responding to any issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Licensing and Compliance: Vendors are responsible for ensuring their business complies with all applicable local, state, and national laws regarding food sales, health regulations, and business operations.
- Accountability: Vendors must take responsibility for any customer complaints or issues arising from their products or services. Yumdeli may remove vendors from the platform if serious or repeated complaints are received.
8. Quality Standards & Reviews
At Yumdeli, customer satisfaction is key. Vendors must ensure that the food they deliver meets the following standards:
- Quality: Vendors must provide high-quality food that meets the description and images provided on the platform. Food must be fresh, cooked to order (when applicable), and consistent in taste and presentation.
- Consistency: Vendors should maintain consistency in food quality and service. Frequent complaints about quality or service may result in vendor suspension or removal from the platform.
- Customer Reviews: Customers will have the opportunity to leave feedback and ratings after receiving their orders. Vendors must maintain a positive customer rating and respond to customer feedback in a constructive manner.
9. Promotions & Discounts
Vendors may participate in promotions or discount campaigns organized by Yumdeli. This could include:
- Promotional Pricing: Offering discounts or special deals on certain items during promotions (e.g., a discount on a customer’s first order).
- Special Offers: Vendors may run their own special offers or create custom deals through Yumdeli’s platform, subject to approval.
- Marketing Support: Yumdeli may assist with promotional campaigns, featured listings, or social media marketing, depending on the vendor's agreement.
10. Termination & Dispute Resolution
Yumdeli reserves the right to terminate the vendor agreement at any time if the vendor:
- Fails to meet quality standards or engage in any activity that compromises the customer experience.
- Violates any local, state, or national laws or Yumdeli’s terms of service, including health, safety, and food regulation violations.
- Fails to resolve customer complaints or respond to Yumdeli’s customer service inquiries in a reasonable timeframe.
In case of disputes, vendors should follow the Dispute Resolution Process outlined in the vendor agreement, which may involve mediation or arbitration.
11. Data Protection & Privacy
Vendors are required to comply with all applicable data protection laws, including DPDPA (Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023) or CPA (Consumer Privacy Act, 1986), to ensure the protection of customer data. Vendors should not misuse customer information and must handle it securely.
- Data Access: Vendors can access order details, customer names, addresses, and contact information only for the purpose of fulfilling orders.
- Data Security: Vendors must implement adequate security measures to protect customer data from unauthorized access, loss, or theft.
